History

Headley Bowling Green was originally laid down in the 1940s but fell into dereliction in the middle 60s. In 1980, in response to public demand within the village, a determined  group of enthusiasts re-established bowling. The bowling green is situated at the rear of the Sports Pavilion on Mill Lane. It forms part of what must be one of the best outdoor multi-sports facilities of any village. The green has four rinks and one of the best playing surfaces in East Hants. The quality of the green is the result of years of dedicated effort on the part of Club members. That dedication is continuing and expanding with the surrounds displaying a profusion of colour in the flower beds tended by the members.
