Awards
Headley Bowling Club held its annual internal competition awards presentation on Saturday 21st October at the Half Moon in Sheet.
All attendees enjoyed a meal and night out before Ladies Captain, Anne Holman proceeded with the presentation of trophies and certificates. John Milton won the Men's Singles and likewise, Frances Smith, in her first year with the club, won the Ladies Singles. John was also successful in winning the Club Championship for the first time, while Frances capped off her first year by winning the Novices Cup.
Len Rutherford won his first trophy, alongside John, as they succeeded in winning the Norman Disney Trophy. Alan Pascoe had a good year, in winning the Two Woods Shield for the first time.
On the pairs front, Jeanette and Nigel Green triumphed in the Chosen pairs while the Drawn pairs cup was won by Daphne Milton and Club Captain, Sue Barrett.
Each Wednesday evening the club host an internal league competition and Chris Holman led the winning team, this year, of John Martin, Ann Pascoe and Jack Moss.
The Club President, John Milton, thanked all competitors and members for their contribution and congratulated the winners, also the runners-up, who were presented with certificates and Club coasters to recognise their achievements.
